Lockheed Martin and Textron Systems have employed the ZTEC Instruments-built ZT4628 oscilloscope and ZT8442 RF/IF digitizer respectively for the US Navy’s electronic Consolidated Automated Support System (eCASS) programme.

Lockheed has used the ZT4628 oscilloscope as a core eCASS instrument to upgrade test systems, while Textron used the ZT8442 RF/IF digitizer in the LXI form factor to create a synthetic instrument.

The US Navy is planning to replace approximately 600 ship and land-based CASS systems with about 340 new eCASS units as part of the eCASS programme.

The eCASS programme aims to test military aircraft on naval aircraft carriers and shore-based depots.
