Raytheon will receive a modification contract from the US Navy to fabricate, assemble, test and deliver five airborne mine neutralisation system (AMNS).

Deployed from the MH-60 helicopter, the AMNS will defuse bottom and moored mines.

Work under the $8.7m contract will be carried out in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, US, and is likely to be completed by August 2013.

The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington DC, is the contracting activity.
