Russia will conduct the next test launch of the Bulava ballistic missile on 27 August 2011, according to a source in the commission.

“The members of the state commission have decided to resume the tests of the Bulava missile and set 27 August as the date for the next test launch for its maximum-range from the Yury Dolgoruky nuclear submarine,” RIA Novosti quotes the source as saying.

Originally planned for 20 August, the launch from the Borey Class Yury Dolgoruky strategic submarine was deferred to prepare the submarine for the next launch of the missile.

The missile has been successfully test fired eight times out of 15 test launches.
