The Islamic Republic of Iran has revealed a new cruise missile, which has been designed for sea targets.

According to state-run Iranian TV, the home-made Qader missile is a lightweight missile capable of hitting submarines at a range of 200km.

Iran has also unveiled a new submarine-launched torpedo, Valfair, and it is expected to improve the country’s naval capabilities as well as the efficiency of vessels and submarines.

In January 2011, the Iranian Navy received new cruise missile systems capable of identifying and neutralising a wide range of sea targets.
