The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) is likely to deploy Arrow missile defence systems on future missile ship purchases.

The purchase of two new surface vessels, estimated to cost over $500m, under the multiyear budget plan will be decided in the coming weeks.

The navy is considering Germany’s Blohm+Voss class of ships after dropping the plan to purchase the US Navy’s littoral combat ship.

The Arrow missile system has been manufactured by Israel Aerospace Industries and Boeing, according to the Jerusalem Post.
