The Brazilian Navy has signed an agreement with the US at the Paris Air Show in France to acquire two additional Sikorsky S-70B Seahawk maritime helicopters.

The acquisition is through the US foreign military sales (FMS) route and the contract finalisation is expected to take place in 2012.

The multirole S-70B helicopter is capable of performing anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare missions.

The navy also placed an order in 2010 for four S-70B aircraft with deliveries starting in December 2011 and continuing through the end of the first quarter of 2012.
