Navistar Defence has been awarded a $357.1m firm-fixed-priced delivery order by the US Marine Corps (USMC) Systems Command for the procurement of 471 MaxxPro Dash vehicles.

The MaxxPro Dash, the sixth variant of the MaxxPro mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) vehicle, has been designed to protect troops from ambushes, improvised explosive devices (IED), mines and roadside bombs.

The vehicles are used by USMC to sustain operations in limited mobility areas such as the mountainous terrain of Afghanistan and the wide-open deserts of Iraq.

Work will be performed at the company’s facility in Mississippi, US and is expected to be completed by the end of September 2011.
