The UK Royal Navy flagship Type 45 destroyer, HMS Daring, has successfully fired the new Sea Viper air defence missile for the first time.

The air defence missile system was fired during a training exercise at the UK Ministry of Defence’s (MoD) target range in the Hebrides, Scotland, UK.

The test firing of the weapons system proves the readiness of the destroyer for its first deployment in defending the UK’s interests.

Sea Viper is capable of defending the new Royal Navy battleships and other vessels against supersonic missiles.
