The Brazilian Navy has selected Paramarine advanced marine design software to support the design and development of a new fleet of Brazilian submarines.

The latest version of Paramarine (V7) has further extended the software’s functionality with enhancements to its reporting, concurrent design and documentation capabilities.

Brazilian Navy captain Admiral Julio Soares De Moura said the software design solution was capable of handling complex issues including submerged stability to trim and inclining experiments.

The navy has plans to build and incorporate a fleet of 11 submersibles, of which, six will be new and the rest will be modernised over the coming decades.

Currently, the navy operates over 100 ships, including those under construction, process of acquisition and modernisation, including five fully operational submarines.
