The US Missile Defense Agency’s sea-based X-band Radar (SBX) vessel is to undergo maintenance and upgrades at Vigor Shipyard in Seattle, Washington, US.

The SBX Radar is one of the sensors for the US missile defence system.

The radar has been designed to detect ballistic missile threats and transmit information to the battle management, command, control and communications system for missile defence.

Work on the radar will begin this month and be completed within a period of three months.
