Russia’s three new-generation nuclear-powered submarines, which are under construction at the Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk, will begin sea trials this year.

The sea trials will begin with the Yuri Dolgoruky submarine, then Borei Class submarine Alexander Nevsky and the multipurpose nuclear submarine of project 885 (Ash) Severodvinsk.

Yuri Dolgoruky has completed factory sea trials and is expected to conduct the first launch of the Bulava missile by mid 2011.

The fourth-generation Alexander Nevskiy submarine is expected to be commissioned in December 2011 in the Russian Pacific Fleet.
