The US Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) has selected Lockheed to compete for task orders to enhance situational awareness on US Navy ships, submarines and shore stations.

The $831m three-year indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract has a two-year option period that increases the total ceiling value of the contract to $1.375bn.

Under the contract, the command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) services will be used by the SPAWAR customer to install on US Navy vessels and stations.

Lockheed Global Training and Logistics Technical Services vice-president Carey Smith said the C4ISR will help US Navy strengthen its situational awareness capability for successful mission execution.
