Raytheon has been awarded a modification contract for evolved Sea Sparrow missile (ESSM) production support and technical engineering tasks for the Nato Sea Sparrow consortium and the United Arab Emirates.

Under the $57.1m contract, the tasks include missile improvement, support equipment improvement, software engineering and improvement, reliability monitoring, system safety monitoring, quality assurance, risk management, test equipment and other support activities.

The Nato Sea Sparrow consortium, which includes US, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Turkey will fund the effort.

Work will be carried out at the company’s facilities in US, Australia, Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Denmark, Greece and Turkey.

The US Naval Sea Systems Command will be the contracting activity.
