Eurocopter has unveiled the first of two AS365N3+ Dauphin aircraft, which is scheduled for delivery to the French Navy.

The new aircraft will replace the existing French Pumas helicopter and will be used for day and night search and rescue and medical evacuation missions in New Caledonia, France.

The AS365N3+ aircraft has been undergoing test flights and features new avionics systems including a four-axis autopilot, an FMS and new communications equipment.

The aircraft has also been ordered by the Western Australia Police Service, according to Shephard.
