Navantia has delivered the F-314 Thor Heyerdahl frigate to the Royal Norwegian Navy at the Fene-Ferrol shipyard, Spain.

Thor Heyerdahl is the last of a series of five F-310 Class frigates ordered by the Royal Norwegian Navy in June 2000.

The 133.25m-long F-314 frigate has a full load displacement capacity of 5,130t and can cruise at a speed of over 26kt.

The new frigates are equipped with the American AEGIS combat system and are expected to replace the old Oslo Class ships.
