The Seahawks will operate from Republic of Singapore Navy stealth frigates to strengthen anti-surface and anti-submarine capabilities.
The helicopters can be deployed up to 400nm ahead of the frigate they operate from and are capable of detecting submerged vessels using a sonar device.
The aircraft are fitted with a sonar device that can detect and neutralise enemy vessels with a torpedo before a threat arises to the warship.
The Seahawks will be part of the 123 Squadron and will serve as forward sensor to threats at sea.
