According to the £570m contract, Agusta will provide an availability-based support package for the Royal Navy’s Merlin helicopters for a second five-year period to increase the availability of the Merlin to front line commands.
The company is also providing IOS solutions for the UK MoD’s Sea King and Apache helicopter fleets as well as for the AW159 Lynx Wildcat.
The IMOS contract also includes payments for achieved flying hours and incentivisation arrangements for delivering agreed levels of aircraft serviceability, operational fleet aircraft numbers and AW101 Merlin training system availability.
