Cambridge Pixel has been awarded a contract by BAE for deployment of its SPX radar scan conversion solutions on the UK Navy’s Type 45 destroyers and Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers.

BAE combat management system chief technical authority Brian Page said Cambridge Pixel’s SPx capabilities would be integrated into BAE’s server and client software.

The SPx radar scan converter will help receive radar video from multiple radars on-board the ship and distribute it over command and control displays across the ship.

Cambridge Pixel managing director David Johnson said the Spx software would provide flexible and expandable solutions to meet the requirements of the navy’s new-generation naval platforms.
