The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy has dispatched a fleet of warships to Qatar to expand defence ties and cooperation, IRGC Naval Forces Lieutenant Commander Alireza Tangsiri has said.

“The measure was actually adopted in response to the participation of a number of Qatari military commanders in five regional drills of the IRGC and it will pave the ground for boosting mutual cooperation,” he added.
The fleet of warships consists of three rocket-launcher frigates and two logistics vessels, which will visit several Qatari Navy military and training units to increase interactions between the two countries.
The IRGC has been tasked with controlling and defending the Persian Gulf security, according to Fars News Agency.
