The Norwegian Defence Logistics Organisation has awarded a contract to ITT Corporation to provide six tactical radar electronic support measures (ESM) and surveillance systems for its Ula Class submarines.

ESM systems help the crew to detect, intercept, locate, or analyse other vessels or objects for possible threats to the submarine.

The system has advanced capabilities for long-range radar signal acquisition, classification and intelligence and is designed for ship, submarine, coastal surveillance and land-based applications.

Work will be carried out by ITT’s radar, reconnaissance and acoustic systems business area.
