NGV Tech is to construct two training / patrol vessels in collaboration with Daewoo for the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN).

NGV Tech Executive Chairman Datuk Zulkifli Shariff said the company would collaborate to design, build and deliver the naval vessels within two years.

“DSME will start the retail design as per the requirements of the RMN and once orders have been confirmed, we can start building immediately,” he added.

The two vessels will be 75.9m-long with more elaborate and sophisticated design and capabilities, costing around RM150m-RM180m ($47.6m-$57.2m) each.

The company has also offered to design the multirole support ship (MRSS) for the RMN, according to Bernama.
