Northrop’s subsidiary AMSEC was awarded a cost-plus-fixed-fee task order by the US Navy for engineering, technical and logistics services, and maintenance and installation / alteration support on cargo and weapons-handling systems.

Under the contract, AMSEC will provide the services on US Navy and Military Sealift Command ships in various locations on the US East Coast, West Coast and Japan.

Work on the systems will begin immediately and if all options are exercised the work is expected to be completed by December 2015.

The contract has a base period with four one-year options that, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of the contract to $30.5m.
