The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) has installed a new surveillance system on its Shachaf surveillance seaplane.

The new $6m upgraded system, developed by the aerospace industry with the Israeli Air Force and Navy, will allow operators to see farther than before without getting close to dangerous areas.

The Israeli Navy will benefit from the upgraded control and surveillance system, which will allow better cooperation between military arms, according to Brahmand.

The Shachaf planes are currently part of squadron Anakey Hamidbar which moved to Nevatim as part of the IDF’s general move to southern Israel.
