“With the UK Type 26 programme running ahead of CSC, our Canadian ship will benefit from lessons learnt on the UK programme.

“This schedule also allows Type 26 the opportunity to be the most advanced CSC.”

The team intends to focus on delivering the right vessel to the Canadian Navy in order to exceed the project’s baseline requirements with minimal change.

In addition, the Combat Ship Team will ensure a successful programme execution by bringing together a pan-Canadian consortium that is well equipped to efficiently carry out the CSC project.

The team also aims to have the CSC solution and capability developed domestically with involvement from Canadian industries.
