KBR has won a logistics IT contract from the US Air Force Installation Contracting Center (AFICC) to support Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR).

Under the cost-plus-fixed-fee task order, KBR will provide technology services to the NAVAIR’s Logistics and Maintenance Information Systems and Technology Division.

Valued at $45.9m, the agreement was awarded under the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center’s (DoD IAC) multiple-award contract (MAC).

It is part of the DoD IAC’s Cyber Security and Information Systems Technical Area Task (CSTAT). In December 2015, the company was awarded a position on the CSTAT contract.

KBR Government Solutions US president Byron Bright said: “KBR is very pleased to continue working with NAVAIR to deliver logistics IT solutions that improve maintenance, logistics efficiency, and operational readiness for the warfighter across the Naval Aviation Enterprise.”

The contract includes engineering and sustainment services such as research, analysis, design, development, unit trialling, verification and validation (V&V) integration testing.

KBR will also engage its technical experts to provide other services including training, deployment, operations, and maintenance of IT solutions.

Work under this task order will be performed at Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland, US.

The company is required to serve on the contract for a total duration of 56 months.

KBR has experience in providing support to NAVAIR’s logistics IT programmes.

The firm’s IT and cyber services portfolio includes software engineering and development, big data analytics, computer network management, defence and support, in addition to cyber certification and accreditation.

The current task order comes after the company’s global government services business KBRwyle signed a contract to provide IT and cybersecurity services for NAVAIR and Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD).

Last month, KBR received a contract to provide worldwide maintenance and supply chain services for the US Marine Corps Blount Island Command.
