US military shipbuilding firm Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) has purchased Maryland-based cybersecurity solutions and services company G2 for an undisclosed amount.

With completion of the acquisition, G2 will now be integrated into HII’s Technical Solutions division.

G2 is known for its expertise in national cyber defence, computer network exploitation, cyber analytics, and the distributed analytic platform.

Led by founder and CEO Paul Green, the company provides solutions to challenges that affect the country’s ability to gather, target, store, analyse and defend digital information.

HII’s Technical Solutions division provides an array of professional services through its Fleet Support, Mission Driven Innovative Solutions, Nuclear & Environmental, and Oil & Gas groups.
