Amentum has received a task order from the US Navy to provide technical and programmatic support services to the Forward Deployed Regional Maintenance Center (FDRMC) under the Seaport NxG contract vehicle.

The company’s Intelligence, System Engineering, Security, Services & Solutions (IS4) Strategic Business Unit will provide programme and engineering support under the five-year, cost-plus-fixed-fee $89m task order.

Support will be offered to FDRMC and various ships in its area of responsibility.

IS4 Sustainment, Engineering & Acquisition senior vice-president Jack Kasiski said: “We are excited to expand our support to the navy’s Regional Maintenance Centers around the globe.

“Amentum has been a critical partner to the navy’s Regional Maintenance Centers for more than two decades, and we look forward to extending our specialised expertise in support of the service’s mission worldwide.”

To support FDRMC, Amentum will provide programme management experts, engineering technicians, integrated test engineers, project support engineers, and quality assurance experts.

It will also provide fleet technical assistance, assessment and inspection, as well as warehouse and intermediate maintenance support.

The contract work will mainly be carried out at FDRMC’s facilities in Manama in Bahrain, Naples in Italy, and Rota in Spain.

Work may also be carried out at other FDRMC operational area locations or that of the 5th and 6th Fleets, including Romania and Poland, contract facilities, offices or shipyards, or on vessels.

SeaPort-NxG, which is the navy’s electronic platform for acquiring support services in 23 functional areas, provides an efficient and effective means of contracting for professional support services and enhancing small business participation.
