Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 43.11% in June 2022, a 7.52% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 22.57% in June 2022, marking a 36.1% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Research Scientists with a share of 21.96% in June 2022, a 20.59% drop from May 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 9.91% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s aerospace, defence & security industry during June 2022 over previous month.
General Dynamics posted 1,413 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered an increase of 5334.62% over the previous month, followed by Northrop Grumman with 635 jobs and a 12.99% growth. Raytheon Technologies with 515 IT jobs and The Boeing with 488 jobs, recorded a 59.03% drop and a 20.91% drop, respectively, while Lockheed Martin recorded a 46.18% decline with 331 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s aerospace, defence & security industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 98.69% share in June 2022, a 1.42% decrease over May 2022. Canada featured next with a 1.19% share, down 24% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.13% share, a drop of 66.67% compared with May 2022.
Mid Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Mid Level jobs held a share of 47.49%, down by 0.48% from May 2022. Junior Level positions with a 36.33% share, registered a decline of 9.18% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.62% share, up 14.18% over May 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.56%, recording a month-on-month decline of 12.9%.
