India’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered a 9.8% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 13.63% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 31.92% share in June 2022, recording an increase of 0.54% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s aerospace, defence & security industry in June 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 68.58% in June 2022, registering a 30.62% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 25.29% share, a decrease of 13.16% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 4.21%, registering a 26.67% decline from May 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 1.53%, down 20% over the previous month.

Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 26.01% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s aerospace, defence & security industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

The Boeing posted 98 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a drop of 44.94% over the previous month, followed by Elettronica with 57 jobs and a 16.18% drop. Raytheon Technologies with 57 IT jobs and NewRocket with 17 jobs, recorded an 8.06% decline and a 240% growth, respectively, while Cubic recorded a flat growth with 10 job postings during June 2022.

Mid Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Mid Level jobs held a share of 50.96%, down by 33.83% from May 2022. Junior Level positions with a 42.15% share, registered a decline of 27.15% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.9% share, up 100% over May 2022.
