Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 52.25% in September 2022, an 114.21% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 18.61% in September 2022, marking a 12.12% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Research Scientists with a share of 11.55% in September 2022, a 69.81% rise from August 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 230.56% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s aerospace, defence & security industry during September 2022 over previous month.
Airbus posted 160 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered an increase of 135.29% over the previous month, followed by Rheinmetall with 120 jobs and a 900% growth. Thales with 81 IT jobs and James Fisher and Sons with 77 jobs, recorded an 80% rise and a 305.26% rise, respectively, while Hensoldt recorded a flat growth with 38 job postings during September 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s aerospace, defence & security industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 33.63% share in September 2022, a 120.17% increase over August 2022. The UK featured next with a 32.86% share, up 16.89% over the previous month. France recorded an 18.23% share, a growth of 75.31% compared with August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.04%, up by 77.26% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20.54% share, registered a decline of 3.03% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.04% share, up 168.75% over August 2022.
