Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 38.76% in August 2022, a 20.61% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 32.76% in August 2022, marking a 23.5% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Research Scientists with a share of 10.49% in August 2022, a 40.24% drop from July 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 24.92% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s aerospace, defence & security industry during August 2022 over previous month.
Airbus posted 64 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a decline of 40.19% over the previous month, followed by Huntington Ingalls Industries with 61 jobs and a 41.9% drop. ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH with 46 IT jobs and Thales with 43 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 48.81% drop, respectively, while The Boeing recorded a flat growth with 33 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s aerospace, defence & security industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 43.25% share in August 2022, a 19.52% decrease over July 2022. Germany featured next with a 24.63% share, up 1.77% over the previous month. France recorded a 15.85% share, a drop of 54.04% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.39%, down by 19.43% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 32.55% share, registered a decline of 27.62% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.85% share, down 3.03% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.21%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
