Asia-Pacific witnessed an 8.3% drop in IT hiring activity in the aerospace, defence & security industry in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
July 2022 has seen a decrease of 6.71% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 20.77% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.63% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 57.37% in July 2022, a 13.83% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 21.32% in July 2022, marking a 29.57% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Research Scientists with a share of 13.68% in July 2022, an 116.67% rise from June 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 3.68% in July 2022, a 17.65% decline over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 16.57% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s aerospace, defence & security industry during July 2022 over previous month.
The Boeing posted 132 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a decline of 13.16% over the previous month, followed by Raytheon Technologies with 63 jobs and an 11.27% drop. Thales with 54 IT jobs and Elettronica with 40 jobs, recorded a 22.73% rise and a 46.67% drop, respectively, while NewRocket recorded a 35% decline with 13 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s aerospace, defence & security industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 64.21% share in July 2022, an 18.39% decrease over June 2022. Australia featured next with an 18.95% share, up 18.03% over the previous month. Japan recorded a 4.74% share, a growth of 80% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 49.21%, down by 7.88% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 45.79% share, registered a decline of 11.68% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5% share, down 29.63% over June 2022.
