May 2022 has seen a decrease of 9.63% in the overall hiring activity when compared with April 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 17.18% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in May 2022, registering a decrease of 1.61% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 77.11% in May 2022, a 5.78% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 8.71% in May 2022, marking a 7.89% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Research Scientists with a share of 7.96% in May 2022, a 38.46% drop from April 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 6.62% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s aerospace, defence & security industry during May 2022 over previous month.
The Boeing posted 266 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a decline of 12.5% over the previous month, followed by Elettronica with 50 jobs and a 25% growth. Thales with 33 IT jobs and Cubic with 9 jobs, recorded a 19.51% drop and a 125% rise, respectively, while Airbus recorded a 125% increase with 9 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s aerospace, defence & security industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 79.35% share in May 2022, a 9.63% decrease over April 2022. Australia featured next with an 11.69% share, down 30.88% over the previous month. South Korea recorded a 1.74% share, a growth of 133.33% compared with April 2022.
Mid Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Mid Level jobs held a share of 54.48%, down by 2.23% from April 2022. Junior Level positions with a 40.55% share, registered a decline of 23.47% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.98% share, down 13.04% over April 2022.
