A 2000 MW power plant located near Melbourne, Australia, was experiencing severe problems with their Ingersoll Rand 65CHTA-4 boiler feed pumps. Repairs lasted less than one year and plant availability was at record low levels.
After contacting EPRI, the system engineer was referred to Hydro for technical support and dialogue was initiated.
After a number of transcontinental phone calls, the plant decided to send an element to Hydro for evaluation and repair.
