Notably, Computer and Mathematical Occupations jobs accounted for a 16% share of the global aerospace, defence and security industry’s corporate governance-related total new job postings in Q2 2024, down 20% over the prior quarter.
Computer and Mathematical Occupations drive corporate governance-related hiring activity
Computer and Mathematical Occupations, with a share of 16%, emerged as the top corporate governance-related job roles within the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q2 2024, with new job postings drop by 20% quarter-on-quarter. Architecture and Engineering Occupations came in second with a share of 11% in Q2 2024, with new job postings dropping by 41% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent corporate governance roles include Management Occupations with an 11% share in Q2 2024, Business and Financial Operations Occupations with a 10% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in aerospace, defence and security industry accounted for 62% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2024 were Boeing, RTX, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman. Together they accounted for a combined share of 62% of all corporate governance-related new jobs in the aerospace, defence and security industry.
Boeing posted 3,106 corporate governance-related new jobs in Q2 2024, RTX 398 jobs, Lockheed Martin 279 jobs, General Dynamics 277 jobs, and Northrop Grumman 246 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with an 84.42% share of total new job postings, Q2 2024
The largest share of corporate governance-related new job postings in the aerospace, defence and security industry in Q2 2024 was in the US with 84.42% followed by the UK (4.00%) and India (1.93%). The share represented by the US was two percentage points lower than the 86.45% share it accounted for in Q1 2024.
