Aker Yards has entered into a contract with the Spanish company Sener Ingeniería y Sistemas for the implementation of FORAN systems across the group’s shipbuilding organisation.
The contract was signed by Mr. Jørgen Berg (IT vice-president) on behalf of Aker Yards, and by Luis Garcia (general manager of the marine business unit) on behalf of Sener.
FORAN FRAME CONTRACT FOR CAD/CAM SHIPBUILDING SOLUTIONS
FORAN is already operating successfully at seven sites of the group. Based on the experience of using FORAN so far, Aker Yards has decided to extend the cooperation with Sener by making a FORAN frame contract for future investments into CAD/CAM shipbuilding solutions.
Currently, Aker Yards owns more than 350 licenses of the main FORAN packages (hull structure and outfitting). As a first consequence of this frame contract, FORAN is being implemented at Aker Yards’ Promar shipyard, a Brazilian location in Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro.
INSTALLATION, TRAINING, AND MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT
FORAN services to be provided by Sener to Aker Yards and the shipbuilding industry include installation, training, and maintenance and support.
