Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. (formerly Bohai Shipyard) is a major shipbuilder in China. The primary activities of the company are shipbuilding and overhauling. Its other activities include steel structure processing, metallurgy equipment, and large hydroelectric equipment fabrication.
It is an R&D centre for critical technical equipment for the Chinese government. The company is a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation.
The shipyard covers 3.6 million square metres. Its shipbuilding infrastructure includes a sever-span type indoor shipbuilding berth, a 50,000-tonnage class dual-stage water-filled dry-dock, a semi-submerged slipway (150,000 tonnage class), a steel plate pretreatment production line, and a hull panel block production line.
