Nowadays Dutch marine LCVP’s can leave the landing deck fast and come into immediate action as they obtain a GPS signal within seconds. Thanks to the GPS repeater provided by SkyDec, ships do not have to wait crucial minutes anymore before they can start navigating.

The GPS repeater operates by receiving GPS satellite signals with an antenna located at the outside of the ship and re-radiating the signals to the ships covered landing docks. Use of re-radiated signals means that the GPS receiver is tracking the current GPS status and when a GPS receiver is moved from a covered area to outdoors, the receiver is instantly tracking the location instead of time consuming acquisition of GPS data.

Next to marine ships, the GPS repeater can also be used for various other applications as for instance in buildings, bunkers, tunnels and vehicles.
