BAE Systems Maritime, a subsidiary of BAE Systems PLC, carries out the design and manufacture of naval ships, submarines, and combat systems and equipment.

It offers associated services including training solutions, maintenance, and modernization programs that help maintain ships and equipment in service and the management of the supporting infrastructure. Its maritime programs include the construction of seven Astute Class submarines for the Royal Navy, and the design and production of the Royal Navy’s Dreadnought Class submarine and Type 26 frigate.

Its Maritime portfolio includes in-service assistance including the delivery of training services and management of HM Naval Base Portsmouth and the design and manufacture of combat systems, torpedoes, and radars. The company’s naval ships include a multi-mission warship that facilitates anti-submarine warfare, air defence, and general-purpose operations. BAE’s submarines business is a member of the Dreadnought Alliance, which works alongside the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) and Rolls-Royce to deliver replacement to the Royal Navy’s Vanguard Class, which carries the UK’s nuclear deterrent.

The Maritime business offers digital and data services such as information and data management, analytics and modelling, software and infrastructure design and development, secure data transmission, and systems integration; energy services covering net zero carbon consultancy, energy management systems, ship energy assessment system (SEAS), concept and feasibility studies, and energy and emission reduction; and engineering services consisting of design, fleet and asset management analytics, ship/aviation interfacing, support engineering, obsolescence management, support service design, and equipment training.
