Aelius Brochure
Aelius’s unique and wide range of MMIC products are focused primarily on the defence and space industries, with competitive timelines and prices.
Astra Microwave Products designs, develops, and manufactures microwave sub-systems for the defence, space, telecommunication and meteorology sectors.
Astra Microwave Products designs, develops, and manufactures microwave sub-systems for the defence, space, telecommunication and meteorology sectors.
Product range includes radar electronics, sub-systems for missiles, electronic warfare, space and telemetry sub-systems, as well as satcom terminals, telecommunication and monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs).
Astra is able to develop, design and produce total RF and Microwave sub-systems for electronic warfare application. Astra’s products have been used as part of many naval programmes and have been able to meet the demanding needs of the naval platforms.
Astra’s EW sub-systems include antennas, front end receivers, up/down convertors, DIFM and special components that include power dividers and pre-filters.
Astra is able to design, develop and produce total RF and Microwave sub-systems for radar systems. Astra’s products have been used as part of both Indian and international radar programmes and were developed according to the required military and aerospace standards.
Astra’s radar sub-systems include TR modules in VHF, UHF, L, S, C, X Ku and Ka bands, Central units – L & S Bands, Receiver Exciters up to Ka band, Array Group receivers, electronic beam forming units, low-power microwave sub-systems and high-power limiters.
Astra has produced a range of telemetry sub-systems such as:
Astra supplies clients with an extensive missile electronics sub-systems range. Its products feature phased array based seeker sub-systems, radio proximity fuses (RPF), command guidance units (CGU) and transponders.
Many of Astra’s products are prominent within the Indian space industry and can be found on-board Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) satellites, such as the Geostationary Satellite (GSAT), the Indian National Satellite (INSAT), the Radar Imaging Satellite (RISAT) and the Indian Remote Sensing Satellite (IRS).
Astra’s selection of ground-based and S-level or on-board sub-systems include:
Astra has successfully developed mobile satellite service (MSS) type-D terminals for disaster situations.
The demand assigned multiple access (DAMA) terminals offer point-to-point connectivity for both voice and data-based communications, operate in S-band, have considerably fast deploy times and are extremely portable.
In collaboration with ISRO, Astra has installed and developed automatic weather stations (AWS) within more than 1,200 remote Indian locations, where various data parameters can be recorded such as atmospheric pressure, solar radiation levels, wind-speed, rainfall and temperature.
The stations send locally collected data to a central location using a satellite with Astra’s transmitter, data logger and uplink antenna. The information is further analysed by the Indian Meteorology Department and other select institutes.
Astra was established in 1991 in Hyderabad. The company designs and manufactures high-quality RF and microwave components and sub-systems.

Laser welding is performed in an inert gas atmosphere using argon and can provide spot, stitch and continuous hermetic (vacuum-tight) weld in a pulsed operation mode in a glove box.
Astra Microwave Products Ltd (AMPL) started working on Space related projects in the year 2003 and a separate working group was created for this purpose at its Research and Development facility located at Hardware Park in Hyderabad.
AMPL has a dedicated RF and Microwave design centre for the space group with experienced design engineers.
Bhavyabhanu Electronics Private Limited (BEPL) is a fully owned subsidiary of Astra Microwave Products Limited (AMPL).
