General Dynamics Information Technology has been awarded the Commander Navy Installations Command (CNIC) N6 Information Technology (IT) Support contract by the US Navy.

The three-year deal is valued at approximately $70m, and will see General Dynamics continue to provide enterprise-level IT services to US Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center Atlantic and CNIC.

General Dynamics will offer programme, engineering and technical support to the US Navy in a wide range of divisions under the agreement. These areas include cybersecurity engineering, enterprise information management, enterprise IT and data centre hosting, enterprise support centre operations, as well as onshore command, control and communications protection.

Work on the Command N6 IT Support project will be carried out across the US, in locations including Washington, DC; Charleston, South Carolina; San Diego, California; Norfolk, Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida.

General Dynamics has designed and developed integrated shore capabilities in order to support CNIC programmes and projects since 2011.

General Dynamics Information Technology previously secured a $33.8m contract from the US Navy in 2009, which saw them provide support services for the navy's IT / information management department.
