The new maritime training facility is slated to enter operational service in the third quarter of 2019.

The Thai navy’s NWTS will be designed based on Rheinmetall’s action speed tactical trainer (ASTT), and will be used to prepare navy personnel for a wide range of combat scenarios such as engaging mines, surface, aerial and underwater targets.

"The new training facility will be connected to the navy’s existing submarine command team trainer and anti-submarine warfare simulator systems upon completion."

Rheinmetall will also use its tried-and-tested advanced naval synthetic environment (ANSE) software to enable rapid generation of simulated scenarios.

The new training facility will be connected to the navy’s existing submarine command team trainer (SCTT) and anti-submarine warfare simulator (ASWS) systems upon completion, which were also supplied by Rheinmetall.
