Defence technology solutions provider Parsons has secured a contract from the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) to provide technical, engineering, advisory and management support (TEAMS)–Next Systems Engineering.

The seven-year contract is valued at $2.24bn and has a three-year base period. It also has two two-year options.

Parsons integrated air and missile defence senior vice-president Kurt Tripp said: “As global threats become more sophisticated, we are committed to advancing the MDA’s critical mission of developing and deploying layered missile defence systems that protect national security, deployed forces and allied forces from missile attacks in all phases of flight.

“From current to future threats, we are focused on supporting the development of innovative, secure, mission-ready systems that connect the battlespace and ensure the security and empowerment of our nation’s warfighter.”

The contract will see Parsons provide engineering, analysis and management support for the development of integrated and layered missile defence systems.

These systems defend US and allied partner forces against ballistic, hypersonic and cruise missile threats.

They also enable in advancing MDA’s integrated air and missile defence, command and control (C2) and battle management communication missions across all-domain operations.

Parsons noted that it has been supporting the MDA’s mission for over 38 years.

Last week, Parsons closed the purchase of digital security firm BlackHorse Solutions in an ‘accretive deal’ worth $203m.
