Headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, RI&S specialises in developing advanced sensors, training, and cyber and software solutions.

It is one of the four businesses that form Raytheon Technologies.

The latest contract is expected to nearly double the amount of equipment being managed by RI&S.

In March 2021, RI&S secured a five-year $146m contract to support the US Navy’s counter narco-terrorism operations. The contract will involve RI&S continue operating and maintaining the US Government’s relocatable over-the-horizon radar (ROTHR) system.

Last year, the business reported a pro forma revenue of $15bn.

According to the company, RI&S has civil, military and commercial customers in more than 46 countries.

Separately, Raytheon also delivered the US Navy’s first Block V configured Tomahawk missile this year. The move marked a major milestone for the capability modernisation programme.
