The Eastern European country plans to utilise the Mark VI Patrol Boats to defend its territorial waters and protect other maritime interests.

In a statement, DSCA said: “This proposed sale will support the foreign policy goals and national security objectives of the United States by improving the security of a partner country that is a force for political stability and economic progress in Europe.”

It also added that the sale will not alter the basic military balance in the region.

In April, the US State Department approved the potential foreign military sale of ten AGM-84L Harpoon Block II air launched missiles and related equipment to India.
