The US Navy has awarded General Dynamics Information Technology a $47m contract to support the military sealift command.

Under this contract the company will provide engineering support to modernise the main engines and auxiliary systems onboard military sealift command vessels through the Naval Surface Warfare Centre.

GD Information Technology navy / air force solutions division combat systems sector vice president and general manager Bill Cobb said that the company supports the US Navy’s vital mission of delivering supplies and conducting operations around the world.

This is a one-year contract, which can extend up to five years.
