The US Department of Defense has awarded a $5,556,809 contract to scientific, engineering and technology applications company Science Applications International to support the cooperative engagement capability (CEC) system, which includes the marine corps composite track network (CTN).

The contract includes the fabrication, assembly and testing of compact solid state antennas that support the mobile applications of the CEC system and CTN.

The CEC system contract also includes the US Army joint land attack cruise missile defence elevated netted sensor system (JLENS).

Additional enhancements in the project could take the contract value to $18,409,860.

The work is expected to be complete by June 2010.
