Under the contract, the company will also provide training, software, project and logistics services, and products necessary to support the SSDS at shore sites, land-based test facilities, shipyards, and aboard ships in ports and at sea.
The SSDS combat system, consisting of software and commercial off-the-shelf applications integrates radar systems with anti-air weapons, both hardkill missile and rapid fire gun systems and softkill decoys and coordinates all of the existing sensors and weapons systems aboard a ship.
Capable of providing an integrated detect-through-engage capability, the defence system enhances target tracking by integrating the inputs from several different sensors to form a composite track.
CACI will carry out work in Port Hueneme, Wallops Island, Crystal City, San Diego, Little Creek and Pearl Harbor.
The company is expected to complete the work by April 2010.
The contract has been awarded by the the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme, California.
