The Iranian Navy has deployed its third fleet of warships from the port of Bandar Abbas to the Gulf of Aden to help protect vessels against piracy.

The navy has sent two fleets of warships to the region to protect Iranian oil tankers and trade vessels after the second deployment of warships returned from patrols on 28 August 2009.
