The German Navy’s new Type 125 frigates will receive command and tactical datalink systems under a new contract awarded to Atlas Elektronik by the F125 project developer ARGE F125 consortium at this year’s Defence Systems & Equipment International event in London.

The F125 project is a consortium formed by Thyssen-Krupp and Lürssen Werft to build four F125 stabilisation frigates which are scheduled to be delivered between 2016 and 2018.

As per the contract, the compay will equip the F125 frigates with its ANCS combat management system and ADLiS tactical datalink system. Atlas will model the combat system and will integrate all the sensors and effectors.

The functionalities of ANCS include traditional picture compilation, situational awareness, threat evaluation / weapon assignment tasks and the detection and engagement of terrorist / asymmetric threats.

The tactical datalink system ADLiS supports the transmission, reception and forwarding of tactical information over multiple data links.
